Why European students add value
Dutch hospitality students combine operational support with a modern hospitality mindset. They understand customer experience, communicate professionally, and think commercially.
In addition, many students possess strong content creation and social media skills. They create authentic visibility through TikTok, Instagram, and international travel communities. Not standard marketing campaigns, but genuine content driven by the real experience of your hote

Within the International Hospitality Talent Program, we work with different forms of international collaboration, depending on the needs of the hotel and the educational background of the student.
Operational InternshipsOperational internships focus on supporting the day-to-day activities within the hotel. Students actively contribute within departments such as front office, food & beverage, guest relations, events, or operations. During this period, they gain valuable hands-on experience while simultaneously contributing to the daily workflow and guest experience of your hotel.
These internships are particularly valuable for hotels that require additional capacity during busy periods while also wanting to attract young international talent.
Research and Graduation ProjectsIn addition to operational internships, we also support students who are completing a research or graduation project. In these programs, the focus is less on operational support and more on analysis, innovation, and strategic hospitality challenges.
Examples of research topics include:
- guest experience optimization
- social media and online branding
- sustainability within hospitality
- revenue and upselling strategies
- international marketing
- employee experience and recruitment
- hotel concept development
These students combine practical insights with theoretical knowledge gained from European hospitality education, allowing them to provide valuable insights and concrete recommendations for your organization.
Duration of the Programs
Most internships and projects last approximately five months. Due to visa regulations, placements generally cannot exceed six months. This timeframe aligns well with the operational needs of hotels during seasonal peaks, while also giving students enough time to truly become part of the team and contribute meaningful value to the organization.
Important Principles Within the Program
Within the International Hospitality Talent Program, we exclusively work with students and interns who are part of an educational learning trajectory. Although they are motivated, professional, and carefully selected, they remain students who are gaining practical experience within an international hospitality environment.
This also means that they may make mistakes, ask questions, and require guidance throughout their development. The program is explicitly designed as a learning experience and not as a replacement for fully qualified staff members.
Students should therefore not be viewed or treated as fully independent employees with the same responsibilities, workload, or expectations as permanent staff members. Proper guidance, clear communication, and a supportive working environment are essential for a successful collaboration.
When hotels invest in coaching and development, the real value emerges: motivated young talents who learn quickly, bring fresh energy, and contribute authentically to the guest experience of your hotel.
Accommodation
Within the program, we ask hotels to provide students with accommodation and meals free of charge or at a significantly reduced rate. Under this structure, students are not permitted to earn a salary. In addition, accommodation provided through the hotel contributes directly to safety, guidance, and reliability during their stay in Cape Town.
At the same time, this also benefits your organization. Students who stay close to or within the hotel are more flexible during peak periods, integrate more naturally into the team, and become more connected to the guest experience of your property. This leads to stronger engagement, continuity, and higher service quality on the floor.
More than staffing
Cape Talent builds sustainable partnerships between European hospitality schools and hotels in South Africa. This creates not only temporary operational support, but also a continuous pipeline of international talent.
The result:
greater capacity, stronger guest experiences, and a hotel brand that grows in international visibility.
